If you actually read some of the supposed threads, you would note
that this topic has been raised again and again. Also what part
of "user" don't you understand. I do agree it might be better if
you don't respond as it seems you need to take a break. I would
also suggest that you follow the advice of some wise people on this
list, in other words you don't have to read everything that is
posted to this list.
I also don't see how talking about multimedia is off topic, it's
very on topic. If I can't watch Blu-ray, or HD-DVD on my box in the
next few years then it is a big deal. I don't feel too bad right
now as it really does not work in Windows. But if the price of
drives drop then you can bet a lot of users will be upset. I also
don't see how talking about solutions is off topic, I have a
problem and if someone suggests a solution i am all for it. But
running away, and putting my head in the sand isn't going to solve
the problem.
As far as developers leaving Debian, wanting to restrict the list
because of one's perceived idea's is not the right way to go. Being
able to discuss issues that effect Debian users without concern is
very important, something about freedom of speech, rights other
such important things.
All your post did was the opposite effect you desired, more people
will post now just to put their idea in about the topics you
brought up, which have nothing to do with the original topic.
Like I said above, how does this solve my problem of playing media
on my Debian box?
