I noticed this permissions issue after a recent upgrade while using
gthumb, and have just been importing from my camera as root for now.
A number of bugs on gphoto2 relate to this [0].  See #341865, #323505,
and #337975.  In the last of those Frederic claims it's been fixed in
libgphoto2 2.1.6-6, but my unstable box has got that version and
permissions are still a problem.
