What tells dpkg -l | grep libpng?
I bet the dev package is 1.0.18 and the binary is
1.2.8!
You need both the same version.

$dpkg -l | grep libpng

all are 1.2.8
libpng10-0 is not installed in the system.

is it posible that xorg was compiled with 1.0.8??
Could that be the problem?
