You need to install grub on the MBR which is the one that normally boots
windows.  In your menu.lst you need to chainload windows and make sure
that the kernel and initrd.img are correctly referenced.

Can you post the output of:

cat /boot/grub/menu.lst
cat /etc/fstab
ls -l /boot

Or check the following out:
