kdesu vs gksu and alternatives

On that note... am I the only one who would prefer their su program to use the 
alternatives system?  So that, for example, running synaptic on a KDE could 
use kdesu, rather than gksu?  I know it can be done manually, but it seems 
silly for menu entries to make such assumptions.
