I rip CDs to flac using abcde and lay them out in a structure like:
Genre/Artist/Album
I manually create the Genre/Artist directory and then cd into it and use
abcde to create the Album dir and name the files.
I also keep a little XML databse using my tupim program to let me browse
them. I like my own dumb solutions better than somebody else's dumb
solution.
I can unflac a couple of albums to wave and use the WMA9
command line transcoder to downmix them to play on my portable device.
Why do I need somebody else's dumb commericial software? It's linux
baby!
