Did you mount the usbdevfs? Add this to your fstab:
usbdevfs /proc/bus/usb usbdevfs defaults 0 0
> /proc $ cat scsi/scsi

Did you rerun lilo? What does dmesg | grep cd say? What does dmesg |
grep command say?
