Dumb question: have you rebooted the machine since? I've had a similar
problem with Calc crashing every time I tried to start it and it was
back to normal after a reboot. (Since it's been several weeks, I guess
that's not your problem, but you never know...)

Another place to look would be http://www.oooforum.org/ where I remember
seeing posts resembling your own.
