Installing Nvidia Drivers in Sarge

HOWTO available for installing the NVIDIA Driver through the default
NVIDIA Installer at nvidia.org ?

When I run the installer it says kernel source not found even after I
provide the 
 --kernel-source-path=<path to kernel source>

I apt-get 'ed the kernel source too, still it fails to build the module.

I have:
Kernel version 2.6.8.1 (Sarge default)
Geforce FX5900
