1) Copy /work to either /var, /home or /usr with "cp -r"
mkdir /home/workback
cp -vr /work/* /home/workback
2) Delete partition /dev/hda8 (YES!)
3) Use `parted' to increase the size of /dev/hda7
4) Recreate /dev/hda8 from the available disk space
5) Mount /dev/hda8 to /work and copy back the /workback
