If you want to ask a question on the list, please write a new mail from
scratch instead of answering to an existing message.

If you want help, you must supply the necessary information. In your
case, that is at least:

the type of graphic card you use
the version of XFree you use
the version of Debian you use
the complete error message given by startx, not only the last part (give
us all the lines beginning with (EE)
the "Device" and "Screen" sections of your XFree86 config file
(/etc/X11/XF86Config-4 or, if that file doesn't exist,
/etc/X11/XF86Config)

If you want to reconfigure XFree, use

dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86

On many systems, the option "Use kernel framebuffer device" option can
cause the error you get, try to turn it off.

If you want to access your linux files from Windows, try explore2fs.
Google can tell you where you find it.
