I'd do this at once if just my nforce2 was better supported in 2.4 :( (having 
just pio is imho a bit unusable). And except that above mentioned issue 
everything works perfectly stable (and final 2.6 is not far away).

What I should have mentioned though is that i host my archives via nfs. 
Earlier libc versions gave me a similar error on df which is by now gone.
