X Forwarding with ssh
I know I've done this plenty of times before, but this time it's just
not playing ball. Any hints?
"desktop" Is Debian sid, with a display running on :0
"server" is Debian woody, and headless (hence using ssh)
I've tried with and without passing -X to ssh, and I understand my
entries in ssh_config should make it default anyhow. Forwarding is
enabled on the server, and both machines have been rebooted through
sheer desperation to make these changes take effect.
Transcript:
shaun@desktop:~$ grep -1 ^Host /etc/ssh/ssh_config
Host 192.168.1.50
ForwardX11 yes
Host server
ForwardX11 yes
shaun@desktop:~$ echo $DISPLAY

shaun@desktop:~$ ssh -X shaun@server
shaun@server's password:

shaun@server:~$ echo $DISPLAY
shaun@server:~$ grep X11 /etc/ssh/sshd_config

X11DisplayOffset 10
... and here's everything my logs have to say about a login:

Thanks for your time,
Shaun.
