Timeout problem returns ...

Is there any way to make mozilla 1.0.2 wait a bit longer before it gives 
up trying to recieve mail from a pop server? By the time my dial on 
demand link is up it is touch and go whether mozilla gives up. Kmail on 
the other hand holds on and loads mail AOK

I though I had solved the problem by deselecting SSL, it has improved 
bit I still have the same problem.
