Are you sure you have the debian menu package installed on your desktop?

Yes. KDE has not only its own menu, but the Debian menu as well.

Finals are this coming week so I haven't had time to do much research on it.

I just wonder why the installation of fluxbox didn't put any default menu or keys files anywhere on my desktop. I am going to try to change the apt sources on it so that it matches the laptop. If it works then, some mirror's are less up to date than others. Otherwise, more troubleshooting.
