The x86 architecture uses lots of power/electricity. You could try a lower power solution such as PPC, of which the following is only one example, and comes with Debian. The other well know vendor, for PPC, is Apple.http://www.pegasosppc.com/tech_specs.php
All other things being equal (which, of course, they're not), how does the Pegasus running Debian compare (particularly speedwise and noise/heat-wise) to Debian on Mac?
I assume also that there'd be the same issues with some apps not running on Pegasus, such as WINE, which is currently i386 only?
It looks like it'd be fun to tinker with. -- Kent
