Considering that "turn off SMP support" is a solution to the problem... ;-)

Nobody seems to know more than "an interupt has been triggered when it 
shouldn't have been" and I don't know of any case where this has lead to 
problems. So as long as your system is stable and you aren't getting this one 
by the ton (normal behaviour un my uniprocessor systems is once per startup 
and then very rarely), you're pretty much safe.
