Here's my "list" of projects/products to watch in this
area. Some are free - some are not. Some don't even exist
yet:
- Samsung Contact aka HP-Openmail 7.x
http://www.samsungcontact.com/
- Bill Workgroup Server (Neuberger & Hughes)
http://www.billworkgroup.org/billworkgroup/home
- Mintersoft (not sure about this one)
http://www.mintersoft.com/products.htm
- Steltor (only calendaring - integrated into Oracles
"Exchange" product)
http://www.steltor.com
- OSA-Foundation
http://www.osafoundation.org/our_product_desc.htm
- Kroupware (no M$ clients, I'm afraid)
http://www.kroupware.org/
- Oracle Collaboration Suite

Those, which provide a tight integration with
Outlook come with a MAPI-provider, which has to be
installed on the client.
There are others - often web based, which provide at least
sync functions. But I don't know how good the Outlook
integration really is.

But earlier or later they want something, which goes more
in the direction of workgroup software - that's why a
re-combinable set of software packages, which provides
most of Exchanges functions would be a real killer-app on
Linux ...
