I haven't had any trouble with my firewire drive and linux... I noticed,
however, that it doesn't always register the first time the sbp2 module
is loaded, and depending on order, the emulated SCSI bus it appears on
may change from time to time.
It works fine with the kio-mac KDE slave and the HFS+ volumes that're on
the drive (except that the hfsplus library recently changed)
Not sure how linux would be able to boot from a partition, however...
sounds like an application of an init ramdisk since the device has the
slim possibility of changing SCSI bus numbers (happens most often if I
turn my CD burner, usb/SCSI emulated, on before||after the firewire
drive is recognized...)
