Start: Applet not initialized

Hello,

for some reason I can't get Java working with Mozilla on my sid
system. The plugins are in the right place, and I'm using Blackdown's
JRE 1.3. When I hit a site with a Java applet, I get the message in
the subject line.

The applet never initializes, but mozilla doesn't complain about not
being able to find Java.
