Re: system freezes (was: X freezes)



I've also had this problem on Intel systems, one an older dual p200 
and the other a newer 1G PIII.  The older system runs a Matrox 
Millenium and the other a  Nvidia GeForce 2 MX.  Both run 2.4.18 
kernels and XFree86 4.1 with mga and nv drivers respectively.  
Subjectively I think both boxes run slower than then had previously.  
The dual p200 had been running potato with 2.2.19/XFree 3 and the PIII 
2.2.18/XFree 3.  I'm up to my ears with other matters and can't
debug the problem just now but I'd be happy help with testing should 
anyone suggest a cure.
