Thanks for Yor help.
I have found libreal.so library in my .xmms/Plugins subdirectory and
though unused (in preferences was disabled) with newer replaced xmms
version it is causing mentioned problems. It may be the way this version
was compiled. 

Removing libreal.so library stop bouth problems.


Following for mail archives as may help somone else with similar problems. 

Searching on google I have found that last year there were quite few
similar complaints with version rmacore.so.6.0.
