Multiple questions

1. What package includes 'dpkg-reconfigure'? I have the man pages for
this command but not the binary. I seem to have all the other dpkg
commands.

trixie:~> find /usr/bin -name '*dpkg*'
/usr/bin/dpkg
/usr/bin/dpkg-deb
/usr/bin/dpkg-split
/usr/bin/dpkg-name
/usr/bin/dpkg-source
/usr/bin/dpkg-genchanges
/usr/bin/dpkg-gencontrol
/usr/bin/dpkg-shlibdeps
/usr/bin/dpkg-buildpackage
/usr/bin/dpkg-distaddfile
/usr/bin/dpkg-scanpackages
/usr/bin/dpkg-scansources
/usr/bin/dpkg-architecture
/usr/bin/dpkg-parsechangelog
/usr/bin/dpkg-checkbuilddeps

2. Every time I run a gnome app I get the message:

Gdk-WARNING **: locale not supported by C library

The file /etc/locale.gen contains nothing other than the
comment-header. I was going to add lines to it, but it says its
automagically generated by debconf, so I tried to run 'dpkg-reconfigure
locales', but I don't seem to have a dpkg-reconfigure (see question 1.)
I want to use the US/english locale, so should I choose 'C', en_us,
iso-8859, UTF-8, ? As you can see I'm a bit clueless about the whole
locale thing.

3. I want to burn a woody install CD, and tried jigdo-lite, but am
having problems. The only documentation I've been able to find just
says "Enter the url of a .jigdo file when jigdo-lite asks for it", which
I did, but apparently something's broken. Do I need to be root? Here's
the output:

trixie:~> jigdo-lite

If you already have a previous version of the image you are
downloading, jigdo can re-use files on the old image that are also
present on the new image, and you do not need to download them
again. Mount the old CD ROM and enter the path it is mounted under
(e.g. `/mnt/cdrom'). Alternatively, just press enter if you want
to start the download of any remaining files.

The jigdo file refers to files stored on Debian mirrors. Please
choose a Debian mirror as follows: Either enter a complete URL
pointing to a mirror (in the form
`ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian/'), or enter any regular expression
for searching through the list of mirrors (try a two-letter
country code such as `de', or a country name like `United
States', or a server name like `sunsite'):

4. I would like to burn a rescue/boot cd for my win2k box. The purpose
of this is to boot the system to do backups across the net, and for any
recovery/repartioning, etc. I have been reading from this page
<http://www.phenix.bnl.gov/~purschke/RescueCD/> and intend to try his
scripts. I've also downloaded Timo's rescue CD set, but haven't tried
it yet. Are there any other tools that you can recommend? Again, I'm
trying to create a boot cd for a machine that does not currently have
linux installed on it, NOT a boot CD for a native linux machine.

5. In Gnome, I accidently removed the stock panel at the bottom of the
screen. How can I get it back?

6. On my win2k box, I have exceed v7.0 and a MS intellimouse explorer
(has a wheel and two thumb buttons.) I access my debian box via XDMCP.
I would like to configure Exceed such that:

- mouse wheel scrolls up/down
- mouse wheen click = third button
- thumb keys usable (i.e. maps to "Back" in Mozilla/Galeon)

Does anyone know how to setup exceed in such a way? What "events" (for
lack of a better word) does Gnome expect for these functions?

Thanks for any help,
Brian
