Actually, that's not fully sufficient here.  The 'date' manpage doesn't
address setting time and formats necessary to specify time.  The much
despised 'info' documents are necessary, the 'pinfo' command will help
if you don't have RMS fingers.

Incidentally, I can't seem to find an info page associated with the
shellutils package, or a "shellutils-doc" package, as is customary.
This in testing.  Anyone know what gives?

Actually, a better solution would be to use ntpdate and/or ntpd to set
(and continually correct) time based on network timeservers.  This tends
to provide very high accuracy.

See also hwclock, particularly the -systohc and -hctosys options.
