Mozilla & Macromedia Flash

Hi,

Recently I upgraded my Mozilla to:
okidz@okidz:~$ dpkg -l | grep moz
ii  mozilla-browse 1+rc2-1        Mozilla Web Browser - core and browser

The plugins that I had installed before was gone; now all I have is the 
default plugin. Do plugins have to be reinstalled after upgrading Mozilla? And 
how is the state of the Flash plugin? Does it work perfectly on rc2? And does 
it work remotely?

BTW, do you need Java to be installed in order to have the Flash plugin 
running? If the answer is yes, I believe that it's a bit overburdening; 
considering that gcj is available now.
