Isn't there a flaw in using rsynch to do backups in that you
only have a single snapshot of your files, without the ability
to restore or look at old versions of constantly changing files.

It seems like tar, using "--exclude" on web browser and usenet
caches, OOo binaries, etc, or "tar --incremental" would be a 
more complete solution.
