kernel-image-2.4.18-686.postinst problem
Hello,
Apart from the first Debian install (potato and 2.2pre17), I have
never installed a Debian kernel with dselect, I have built my own.
Today, I tried to install the 2.4.18-5 image on my laptop. While it
is being configured, I get an error at a readlink call ("readlink:
need exactly one argument.") and then the script returns the message
that it "Failed to create initrd image."
>From snooping around, I see that there are two readlink statements,
but there is a lot happening in this postinst script and I am
hesistant to just start playing with it. I tried to print the value
of the variable being assigned by the readlink statement, but nothing
was shown (by doing 'print STDERR $varname').
Any suggestions on how I should proceed figuring this out? I didn't
see any bugs on this or anything in related in the mailinglists (user
and devel).
Thanks for any suggestions.
