i've done this:

# cd /usr/local/lib
# ln -s /usr/lib/libexpat.so.1.0.0 libexpat.so.0
# cd /etc
# mcedit ld.so.conf
then you add a new line
'/usr/local/lib'
save the file and run
# ldconfig

this is not the best fix, but works fine.
