interesting that you ask. i tried lspci on redhat, another machine (6.1 w/ 
2.4.2 kernel). i worked same as the debian (from apt-get....). when i move a 
copy over from the 6.1 machine to debian, it works identically to the redhat 
7.1 version. go figure...
