i had a similar problem after upgrading to 8.2.3. and weird thing is that
i never remember seeing anything about it being mentioned. it was clear
when bind 8 started requiring $TTL but this new extra pickyness in
8.2.3 really pissed me off.

thats the kinda stuff i expect when upgrading from 8-> not just a minor
upgrade!! argh
