Don't know if you have done all neccessary things. Do you have the file
/etc/resolv.conf? This is sometimes missing and you have to create it.
This is my resolv.conf:
domain http://www.msn.de
nameserver 193.101.111.20
This file is very important to gett access to your ISP.
