Problems with resolver
Hello
I have local 10.0.0.0/24 network connected through SNAT server
with linux 2.4.7 to the internet. All hosts from local network
I have in /etc/hosts, but it looks like this file is ignored or what.
in resolv.conf I have search domain.cz, this is domain of NAT server.
Next lines are nameservers 127.0.0.1 and DNS outside. In hosts.conf
I have order hosts,bind and multi on. When I try
host 10.0.0.67
I get answer
Name: station11
Address: 10.0.0.67
but when I want host station11 I get
station11.domain.cz does not exist.
No matter If local bind is on/off. And when I try host server I get
answer for external addres of it including domain.cz. Bind is only
configured as cache DNS, without any domains.
I need internal addres without domain name. Samba server on that
server answer only to some machines. Either communicating with PDC
is problematic so authentication is not good. It is so confused.
All is on woody linux 2.4.7 i386.
Where Is the problem?
