just some debian problems...help

ok, a few weeks back I installed Woody, everything runs fine but I have a few questions.. I want to install xmms-dev and i get this error:

--- CUT ---
apt-get -f install xmms-dev

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

Sorry, but the following packages have unmet dependencies:
xmms-dev: Depends: xmms (= 1.2.4-helix1) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: xlib6g-dev but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libgtk1.2-dev but it is not going to be installed
E: Sorry, broken packages
--- CUT ---

--- CUT ---
apt-get -f install libgtk1.2-dev libgtk1.2

Sorry, libgtk1.2 is already the newest version

that problem has been around for a while. But I noticed that Im not receiving any updates to woody. (for the last 1.5weeks) I use
(/etc/apt/sources.list)

--- CUT ---
deb http://http.us.debian.org/debian woody main contrib non-free
deb http://spidermonkey.helixcode.com/distributions/Debian woody main
deb http://non-us.debian.org woody/non-US main contrib non-free
--- CUT ---

but an apt-get update ; apt-get dist-upgrade (or upgrade) says _everything_ is current..which i think is false, as my current XFree86 version is ..4.0.1pre2.RC3 no apt-get updates for 1.5wks..whats happening to me?

apt-get install task-kde couldnt install

apt-get -f install task-kde
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
E: Couldn't find package task-kde

help?
