I can provide the suicide pill, though I don't know why resolving is
broken.

# ipchains -F
# ipchains -A input -j ACCEPT
# ipchains -A forward -j ACCEPT
# ipchains -A output -j ACCEPT

this is fluch all rules, then change default behavior to ACCEPT for
each chain.
