mouse problem

Hi,

So X won't recognize the mouse on my system - gpmconfig can see it, but when
X starts, I get the following message:

Fatal server error:
Cannot open mouse (no such file or directory)

It's a PS/2 mouse, 2 button, very basic.  Again, it works in text (console)
mode.
