Mounting /fd0 (Was Re: Base2_0.tgz missing man command.)

I see, I must have been confused when  the archive tried to open man and found it wasn't
there.  I wonder then why is the reference to man in the archive at all. Thank you for your
help. And thank everyone for your help. This is a lively group!

Now, I find that when trying to mount /fd0 I get  the error "can't find  /fd0 in /etc/mtab
or /etc/fstab
I have edited /etc/fstab to include this line...
/dev/fd0       /floppy        auto      noauto,sync     0     0
as per the instructions I found at www.debian.org/~hp/tutorial/debian-tutorial.html
however I get the same error message even after shutdown and reboot.
I did not edit /etc/mtab because I can't figure out what I should put in the file. My mtab
file now reads...
/dev/hda1  / ext2 rw,errors=remount-ro 0 0
proc /proc proc rw 0 0
would I add to this in order to get fd0 to mount. If yes, where can I find information on
what to add.
