Ves como no me sale que diga que mi monitor es un sony 72, aquí (*) te dejo una captura de otra maquina qu tengo un win 7 con una debian y tiene la resolución 1920x1080 con el mismo monitor

no puedo cambiar resolución de pantalla
Gestor de escritorio es ubuntu
Distro Debian GNU/Linux 8 (jessie) 64-bit
Grafica Gallium 0.4 on llvmpipe (LLVM 3.5, 256 bits)
El comando xrandr sólo me da para 1024 x 768 y la mia es 1920 1080
:~$ xrandr -q

Con cvt me sale mi resolución

Siquiendo este tutorial http://bit.ly/2qUrNbf al crear el xorg.conf i reiniciar me quede sin X al eliminarlo me volvierón las Xs
Alguna sugerencia....
