Volume Control problem

hallo,

mein "volume control" (>applications>multimedia)
funktioniert nicht. fehlermeldung: "Sorry, no
mixer elements and/or devices found".

habe in der not das package setmixer installiert,
damit kann ich nun auf der kommandozeile die
laustaerke aendern (bspw.: "setmixer -V vol 100"
fuer volle lautstaerke).

frage: was muss ich machen, damit mein volume
control funktioniert?
