Well, I can't speak for the Gateway series, but anything that is pcmcia,
by definition, is hot swapable. My network card and 14.4k modem work fine
and I swap them in and out all the time. In fact, the NIC is nice that way.
I change the settings in the network.opts file, pop it out, pop it back in,
tada, new network. Great for testing those customer networks in a flash.
It looks like the pcmcia tools does have a configuration for cdroms. I
didn't see anything about floppies, so I'm not too entirely sure about that
one.
