I am not quite sure how to search for this, and so far I have not turned up anything substantive ;> Is there some dpkg/apt tool to scan an existing system, and pass judgment on the current state of installed dependency integrity? Yes, I have a good idea how the installation process works, and I am satisfied with that as far as it goes. However, sometimes installations _remove_ stuff, and other processes (e.g., deborphan, &c.) facilitate cleaning up unused files. Accidents happen. Bugs bug. With all of these processes going on, is there a canonical method to verify the integrity of the status quo? what do you think? -- Best Regards, mds mds resource 877.596.8237 - Dare to fix things before they break . . . - Our capacity for understanding is inversely proportional to how much we think we know.
