You seem to have a good command line.

Do you have a directory /usr/src/kernel-patches/all/debianlogo? How is it
owned? Does it contain the files "debian-logo-2.2.x.gz" and 
"debian-logo-2.4.x.gz"?

Have you successfully applied the debianlogo patch to any other kernels?
