If "he" is the OP, then, I'm running testing/unstable mix.

I did update some packages today, yet didn't notice much difference.
Maybe I need to move completely to sid.

Any pointers to how to configure with fonts.conf? If I move it out of the
way some fonts *slightly* change, but not much.

I'd still like to see mozilla with AA completely turned off.

And is this a result of mixing from testing and unstable? I don't really
follow this dependency problem:

  libgtk-common: Depends: libgtk2.0-common (= 2.2.0-1) but 2.2.0-2 is to
   be installed

2.2.0-2 is installed.

# apt-get -t unstable install libgtk-common

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

Sorry, but the following packages have unmet dependencies:
  libgtk-common: Depends: libgtk2.0-common (= 2.2.0-1) but 2.2.0-2 is to
be installed
