It did today - after not noticing the mashine for 2 days - apt-cache
had the appropiate information - maybe computers have temporary moods,
even emacs seems to behave properly.

Actually I'm quite pertubed about this behaviour.



The make install20 succeeded, the loudspeakers play Madonna, only the
GNOME Volume Meter keeps dark

/var/log/messages containes this:
