Hmmm. I had to use: mount -t ufs -o ufstype=sun,rw /dev/sda1 /mnt

and the mount command gave no errors, but when I tried to make and ext2
file system on the loop mounted file, I get:

Attempt to write block from filesystem resulted in short write

_many_ times ;-)

Just a bit...

Sounds like I can't get there from here, guess I'll just blow the file
system away and install Debian ;-)

Is there anything, as an Intel experienced installer, that I should know
about organizing partitions on an Ultra, that I am not already likely to
know from my Intel experience?
