Indeed, I have tested it yesterday too and the scripts now breeze through without bailing out.

I would like to keep the bug, and will solve it by adding a versioned build-dependency on Fontforge to ensure it will always build properly.

With the latest upload of fontforge the issue is solved: #1015092 .

We could simply close the bug or tighten the build dep.
