Thomas, you are missing one point: Its about the bug, not the bug reporter.

We often help bug reporters to get a fix for their problem quickly, but that does not fix a bug!!!

What are you trying?

Take for example the ams licensing bug (no bug number, writing on iphone). It was open for many many many years, but finally AMS moved and we got a proper license statement.

Don't mix
    User support
with
   Bug fixing


If you want to do user support, just read the ml and help answering.
If you want bug fixing, fix them when they are fixed.


That would be the ideal. Unfortunately due to the huge mess the later has gotten impossible.
