Package: tetex-bin
Version: 3.0-6.0.sarge1
Severity: important

Hi developers of aleph (both of them), hi Debian package maintainers,=20

since version 3.0 teTeX also provides aleph, a "multilingual variant" of
the TeX typesetting system, developed by the aleph project at
aleph@ntg.nl,

http://www.tex.ac.uk/cgi-bin/texfaq2html?label=3Daleph

Unfortunately, there exists a different aleph project, too:

Description: The Aleph programming language - runtime
Aleph is a multi-threaded functional programming language with dynamic
symbol bindings that support the object oriented paradigm. Aleph has a
rich set of features providing runtime compatibility with C++. The
engine runs on both 32 bits and 64 bits platforms. It is designed to
 be portable across platforms.

(I have tried to find a contact address for aleph upstream, but
couldn't; the domain seems to be something very different meanwhile).

Both programs provide the binary aleph, which means that currently they
can hardly coexist. While it would certainly be possible to find a
solution specific to Debian, I think both projects and their users
benefit more if a we adopt a solution of general usefulness.

What do you think?

Regards, Frank

OB Debian: I know that this bug is RC, but since tetex-bin_3.0 is
only in experimental, tetex-bin_2.0.2-31 is trying to enter testing (C++
transition), and the testing migration scripts don't seem to properly
detect that RC bugs in experimental shouldn't affect them, I leave this
at important for the time being

Couldn't someone fix the upload queue scripts?
