Should tetex-bin really Suggest: lpr?
Hi,
I just wondered why tetex-bin Suggests: lpr. Today, many people use
alternatives like cupsys or lprng. But it doesn't seem to be common to
depend on printing functionality - otherwise there would probably exist
a virtual package "lp" or something. Anyway - if people want to print
on a machine, they'll probably want that anyway, whether TeX is
installed or not. On the other hand, if a machine doesn't need printing
functionality (e.g. because it is a server that creates different output
for users to download), this won't change after TeX is installed
(e.g. to produce pdf files).
Therefore I am inclined to remove the Suggests: lpr, instead of
substituting it by a list of printing alternatives. What do you think?
Regards, Frank
