Bug#223412: /usr/bin/pdftex: pdflatex output for tipa fonts crashes pdffonts

It seems it's a pdflatex bug. In the sequence latex --> dvips -->
ps2pdf, the tipa10.tfm font metrics file is generated by metafont
(triggered by dvips). pdflatex just issues a 

Warning: pdflatex (file tipa10): Font tipa10 at 600 not found

instead. After running dvips over the respective dvi file, also pdflatex
does without problems. This is also a possible workaround.
