And if you want to know the nasty workaround, it was to just remove
/usr/share/texmf/tex/latex/graphics/dvipdfm.def, then --purge dvipdfm, then
install tetex-bin.
That should probably be posted as a workaround on the bug tracker page for
dvipdfm, since there was no indication that it was a problem with tetex-bin
(in fact, tetex-bin wasn't installed at the time, though I don't know how
it became uninstalled, either).
